Images stay on your device · No sign-up · No third-party resources here
Metadata is extra information in a file, such as location, capture date and device details. It is separate from the visible picture.
Removing metadata does not hide addresses, numbers or text visible in the picture. Need to cover those? Open image redaction

Inspect metadata
These original values are shown only in this page on your device. They are not saved or reported.
Checks EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, PNG text, color profiles and embedded thumbnails. Coverage depends on the format and parser; no detection does not prove the absence of all information.
If no readable information is detected, you can leave the image as it is. Exporting will still re-encode it.
You can still re-encode from pixels when reading is incomplete. Unread original metadata is not copied into the new file.
Want a template? Fill in any details
Every field is optional. The button below replaces your existing watermark text.
No details entered; no watermark will be added.
Write how this copy may be used, or try the optional template. Blank text adds no watermark. Keep essential details readable; a watermark cannot guarantee against misuse or removal.

Export settings
PNG encoding is lossless and does not use quality or size targets. The file may not be smaller.
Advanced settings
Keep the image ratio without enlarging small images. A size target may lower quality; Maximum quality sets the upper limit. PNG does not use quality or size targets.
Small targets may lower quality considerably. Check details, raise the target or remove the limit if needed.
Current output: JPEG. Transparent areas become white. To keep transparency, choose PNG or WebP in Advanced settings.
Original metadata is not copied. JPEG and WebP are re-encoded, which may change quality or file size.
Check the exported result
Re-encoded from pixels; original photo metadata is not copied.
The result is still over your target. Raise the limit, reduce dimensions or remove the limit and generate again.
How to use this tool
- Choose a photo and inspect the detected metadata. No detection and a reading failure are different states.
- Continue to export settings and check the format, quality and dimensions.
- Select Remove metadata and generate, then inspect the exported image and its metadata report.
- Confirm and download. Removing metadata does not cover visible text in the image.
A few useful things to know
- Does removing metadata change image quality?
- This tool re-encodes pixels without copying original metadata. PNG encoding is lossless; JPEG and WebP may change quality or file size. Inspect the result.
- Does this hide text in the picture?
- No. Metadata is extra file information. Visible addresses, numbers and text remain in the picture; use image redaction to cover them.
- Do I need to export if nothing was found?
- You can leave the image unchanged. No detection means no readable common information was found, not proof that all extra information is absent. Export still re-encodes the image.
- How can I check local processing?
- Prepare offline resources, disconnect, reopen this page and process a sample image without private information. This page loads its tools from ImgDeal and offers optional action statistics.
- Are my images saved on this site?
- Images and editing inputs remain in this tab’s memory. Clear the task or close the tab to release them. Offline caches contain program resources only.
