Redact Private Details in Images

Free · No sign-up · Images never uploaded

Before sharing an ID photo, order screenshot or conversation, cover details that should stay private with solid rectangles. Move and resize each block until the coverage is right, then export an image with the blocks written into its pixels. Processing stays in your browser.

How to use

  1. Open the tool from this page and choose an image; Area redaction turns on automatically
  2. Drag across the preview to draw a block. Select it to move it or drag an edge or corner to resize it; changing the color affects new blocks only
  3. Cover past every edge of the private text. Undo or delete blocks as needed, then tap Done, download, and inspect the exported image

FAQ

Can I change a block after drawing it?
Yes. Select a rectangle, drag inside it to move it, or drag its edges or corners to resize it. You can also undo a change or delete the selected block.
Can someone remove the block from the exported image?
The tool writes solid color into the exported image pixels rather than adding a preview-only overlay. Make sure the block covers every edge of the content, and inspect the exported file before sharing.
Does it support blur or mosaic?
Not yet. The current tool uses solid rectangles, which are better suited to hiding text that must remain private.
Will my image be uploaded?
No. Choosing the file, drawing blocks and exporting all happen locally in your browser.
